BANGKOK, Thailand – The Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA) has reinforced its leadership in climate action with a strong commitment to achieving Net Zero 2050, hosting the “2025 TCMA Technical Conference and Exhibition” on 21–22 August at Toscana Valley, Khao Yai. The flagship event brought together Thai cement industry leaders, international organizations, and technology innovators to exchange insights and accelerate decarbonization across the sector.
With the theme “Decarbonization Technology: Advancing the Cement Industry towards Net Zero 2050,” the two-day conference showcased cutting-edge technologies and strategies, including alternative fuel and material innovation, digital and AI-driven transformation, green technologies, and global progress in carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS). TCMA Chairman Dr. Chana Poomee highlighted the importance of collaborative action among domestic and international stakeholders to drive a just and inclusive transition.
The event featured keynote remarks by Mr. Zhao Jie of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), who emphasized the need for clear policies, technology collaboration, green financing, and sustained demand for low-carbon products. A high-level panel discussion followed with representatives from GIZ, WBCSD, AFCM, and the Asian Development Bank (ADB), who collectively commended TCMA’s leadership and affirmed Thailand’s potential to serve as a regional model for industrial decarbonization.
Closing the conference, Dr. Chana underlined that advancing towards Net Zero requires more than knowledge—it demands timely investments in advanced technologies, efficient capital allocation, and cross-sector cooperation. He noted that Thailand’s 2050 Net Zero Cement and Concrete Roadmap can inspire broader decarbonization efforts across industries in the region and beyond. (NNT)
