Thai authorities clear unexploded ordnance along Thailand–Cambodia border to ensure civilian safety

BANGKOK, Thailand – The Border Patrol Police Region 12 Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit, in coordination with Humanitarian Mine Action Unit 1 (HMAU 1), is inspecting, securing, and disposing of unexploded ordnance in border areas between Thailand and Cambodia, especially in Sa Kaeo Province.

​The operation targets the verification and clearance of BM-21 rocket remnants and artillery shell components found in residential areas to ensure the safety of residents and their property.



Authorities have issued a public safety advisory for residents returning home. The public is urged to stay vigilant and avoid touching or moving any unfamiliar or suspicious objects that may resemble explosive devices or ammunition fragments. Residents should keep a safe distance and immediately notify community leaders, local officials, or police.
