Army “Sky Doctors” and rapid-response medics airlift wounded soldiers from active conflict zones, ensuring fast transfer to advanced-care hospitals as clashes intensify along the Thai–Cambodian border.

BANGKOK, Thailand – The Royal Thai Army has deployed specialized medical teams to support frontline care and enhance aeromedical evacuation amid continued clashes along the Thai–Cambodian border. Since fighting escalated on December 8, the 2nd Army Area has mobilized the “2nd Army Area Medical Task Unit” in coordination with the Sky Doctor team from Suranaree Camp Hospital. These teams are tasked with providing rapid, safe air evacuations for injured soldiers from active combat zones.

Medical personnel are operating under high-risk conditions to stabilize the wounded during flight and ensure quick transfer to rear-area hospitals. The Army has also activated an integrated system to move seriously injured personnel to central facilities, including Phramongkutklao Hospital in Bangkok, where immediate surgical and emergency care is available.

This evacuation and treatment system improves survival rates and shortens response times by linking battlefield care with advanced hospital treatment. It also enables seamless medical handovers between units, reducing delays and minimizing the risks of prolonged battlefield exposure.

The Royal Thai Army continues to dedicate all necessary medical resources to support its personnel, ensuring every injured soldier receives timely, effective treatment and the best possible chance of recovery. (NNT)
