Strategic forums to be held in 4 regions to discuss Woman Development Fund

BANGKOK, 17 May 2013  — Minister attached to the Prime Minister’s Office, Sansanee Nakpong, presided over a VDO Conference on preparations for strategic forums to be organized in four parts of the country to move forward the government’s Woman Development Fund.

She said the strategies to be discussed would cover four areas, namely woman potentials, job creation under the sufficiency economy concept, quality of life of general and less-fortunate women, and the potentials of the development Fund.

According to her, the forums will be conducted to brainstorm ideas from nearly 1,000 woman representatives, and the information gathered from the forums will be translated into practical guidelines for the Fund.

Deputy Director of the Office of the Woman Development Fund Committee, Dr. Khanittha Kanjanarangsinont (ขนิฎฐา กาญจนรังษีนนท์), stated target audience of the forums are woman representatives from the government and private sectors, politics, and media from the 4 regions. The forums will be arranged in Bangkok in the central region, Khon Kaen in Northeast, Chiang Mai in the North, and Nakhon Si Thammarat in the South.

In Bangkok, the forum will be held on May 23, Chiang Mai on May 29, Khon Kaen on June 6 and Nakhon Si Thammarat on June 13.
