BANGKOK, Thailand – Siam Piwat Group has unveiled ICONPHUKET, a THB 10 billion global destination project set to become a new landmark for Phuket and Southern Thailand. Positioned as “The Icon of Southern Wonders,” the development aims to bring the region’s identity, cultural heritage, local wisdom and economic potential to a global audience, while creating long-term opportunities for communities and businesses across the South.
The project reinforces Siam Piwat’s role as “The Game Changer” in creating world-class destinations that transform cities, support economic growth and elevate Thailand’s profile internationally. The Group, which developed Siam Paragon, Siam Center and Siam Discovery, and is a joint owner of ICONSIAM and Siam Premium Outlets Bangkok, said ICONPHUKET represents a major milestone in its expansion beyond Bangkok.
Chadatip Chutrakul, Chief Executive Officer of Siam Piwat Co., Ltd., said the company has spent 67 years developing projects that go beyond conventional real estate, creating destinations that deliver value for people, partners and communities. She said the success of developments such as Siam District and ICONSIAM has demonstrated that Thai-led projects can compete on the global stage while generating economic value and strengthening local communities.
With an investment of THB 10 billion, ICONPHUKET will be developed as a hybrid retail, attraction and entertainment destination, featuring 12 world-class attractions designed to offer year-round lifestyle, leisure and travel experiences. The project will be the centerpiece of “Synthesis Ark Phuket,” a THB 50 billion integrated mixed-use development by CV Group of Companies, covering more than 500 rai in the heart of Phuket.
Synthesis Ark Phuket will include condominiums, luxury villas, office buildings, hotels, serviced apartments, educational institutions and health and wellness facilities. ICONPHUKET is scheduled to open in 2029, while the first phase of Synthesis Ark Phuket is expected to be completed in 2032. More than 40 percent of the project will be allocated to green and open spaces, while one-third will be dedicated to attractions and entertainment.
Siam Piwat said ICONPHUKET will bring together the stories, culture, wisdom and products of Southern Thailand’s 14 provinces in one destination. The project is intended to serve as a platform for SMEs, community enterprises and local producers, enabling them to access wider markets and new business opportunities. It also aims to encourage visitors to explore destinations across Southern Thailand, supporting longer stays and increased tourism spending throughout the region.
The development is being planned as a future-ready smart city, incorporating green technologies, efficient resource management and smart mobility solutions. Siam Piwat has worked with local communities, government agencies and stakeholders in Phuket, alongside architects, engineers and sustainability consultants, to support sustainable urban development and minimize environmental impact.
ICONPHUKET is expected to create an estimated 50,000 to 80,000 jobs from the construction period through full operations. Once fully operational, the project is projected to welcome between 80,000 and 100,000 visitors per day, strengthening Phuket and Southern Thailand’s competitiveness in tourism, investment and the creative economy.
Siam Piwat said ICONPHUKET will serve as a gateway to Southern Thailand’s potential, connecting the region with global opportunities in trade, investment and creativity. Further details of the project are expected to be announced in the coming months. (NNT)
