Rescue teams find lost foreign tourists in forest near Haad Rin, Koh Pha-ngan

Officials from Than Sadet–Ko Pha-ngan National Park and partner agencies escort two foreign tourists to safety after locating them in a forested area near Ban Haad Rin on Koh Pha-ngan during a coordinated nighttime search on February 4.

KOH PHA-NGAN, Thailand – Officials from Than Sadet–Ko Pha-ngan National Park have safely rescued two foreign tourists who became lost in a forested area near Ban Haad Rin on Koh Pha-ngan, outside the park’s boundaries.

The park received a request for assistance at around 9:30 p.m. on February 4 and deployed its Smart Patrol unit as part of a coordinated search effort with Ko Pha-ngan district officers, the Tourist Police, and local administrative authorities.



Search teams located the two tourists during the initial operation and identified them as Zach Izhak Berlinski, an Israeli national, and Boris Andres Ponton Pacheco, an Ecuadorian national. They were found at a location confirmed to be outside the national park area.

Officials provided on-site assistance and escorted both individuals safely out of the forest before returning them to their accommodation. (NNT)
