Religious teacher shot to death in Pattani

PATTANI, Oct 30 – A Muslim religious teacher was shot dead in this southern border province. The victim, Mahama Ma-ae, 47, a religious teacher of the Thamwittaya Mulanithi School in Yala, was attacked by an unidentified gunman while he drove his pick-up truck in Yarang district. His body was found in the bullet riddled vehicle.  
The motive for the killing is under investigation to determine whether it is related to the southern insurgency or is a personal conflict.
