Bangkok – The Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rains in most parts of the country until this weekend as a low pressure weather system moves up from the Gulf of Thailand.

According to the Meteorological Department, rain can be expected in the Central region, Northeast, East and the South of Thailand until Sunday. In addition to precipitation, the arrival of cold air masses from China on Monday will cause the temperatures in the upper parts of the country to drop by 4-6 degrees Celsius.

Citizens nationwide have been advised to brace themselves for gusty winds and wet weather conditions during this period. Farmers have been warned of possible damage to their crops.

Boat operators in the South of Thailand should take precautionary measures as waves at sea could reach 3 meters high. Small fishing boats should remain in port until February 2nd due to poor weather conditions.
