BANGKOK, Thailand – Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn presided over the opening of the 2025 Annual Red Cross Fair at Lumpini Park in Bangkok on December 11, honoring Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother for her decades of humanitarian service.
During the ceremony, the Princess Royal unveiled the official signage, viewed a performance dedicated to the Queen Mother, and presented royal certificates to winners of Red Cross competitions and to individuals and organizations who have supported the Society’s humanitarian efforts. Her Royal Highness then toured exhibitions and booths, including those displaying royal-initiative projects and community-made products.
One highlight of this year’s fair is the exhibition “69 Years of Compassion,” showcasing the Queen Mother’s work as President of the Thai Red Cross Society. Visitors can also explore a tribute zone featuring a portrait of the Queen Mother, watch daily performances—including episodes of the Khon masked drama—and enjoy projection mapping shows set to royal musical compositions.
The fair features over 200 booths offering food, handmade crafts, and items from royal projects. Popular attractions include live astrology readings and interactive games. Many of the goods on display are produced through royal-initiative livelihood and environmental programs that support rural and remote communities.
The 2025 Red Cross Fair runs from December 11 to 21, open daily from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. at Lumpini Park. A full virtual version of the fair is also available 24/7 at www.iredcross.org. Visitors are encouraged to use public transport, bring reusable bags, and avoid single-use foam containers to help reduce waste. (NNT)
