
BANGKOK, Thailand – Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra has reiterated that her government is not complacent about the ongoing situation along the Thai-Cambodian border, emphasizing Thailand’s unwavering stance on protecting its sovereignty and national interest.
In a statement posted on Thursday, the Prime Minister assured the public that the government is fully engaged in addressing the issue and is closely coordinating with key agencies, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Defence, and national security bodies, to conduct a thorough assessment of the situation.
“I want to reaffirm that the government is not turning a blind eye to the Thai-Cambodian border situation,” said Paetongtarn. “We are integrating efforts among relevant ministries and agencies to assess developments from all perspectives.”
She added that authorities are collecting and analyzing information from local officials, satellite and mapping technologies, and scientific assessments, all within the framework of international law. The government’s primary goal, she emphasized, is to protect Thailand’s sovereignty and safeguard the interests of the Thai people.
The Prime Minister also stated that if there are any developments, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be responsible for providing official updates to ensure the public receives accurate and comprehensive information. (TNA)
