PM Prayut to hand financial assistance to people affected by Korat attack

BANGKOK – Representatives of the Ministry of Finance and state-owned banks, have brought 12 million baht in donation to Prime Minister and Defense Minister, Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha. The donated money went to the Prime Minister’s Office Disaster Relief Fund to help those affected by the mass shooting on February 8 and 9, 2020, in Nakhon Ratchasima province.



The government’s financial assistance for the injured and the families of those killed, has been transferred to Nakhon Ratchasima province. The Prime Minister will present the financial assistance to the victims on February 19.

The Permanent Secretary of the Prime Minister’s Office, Teerapat Prayoonsit, said today that Gen. Prayut will distribute the financial aid to 27 people who are family members of those killed and 57 injured people. Mr. Teerapat said officials are checking the information of victims involved in the attack.

Public donations for the families of victims of the mass shooting at the Terminal 21 shopping mall in Nakhon Ratchasima province closed on February 16. Total donations have topped 82 million baht, with 29 million baht having been given to those affected. T

he government resolved to increase payments to four injured victims who are still being treated in an intensive care unit (ICU). Three of them are likely to be permanently disabled. They will receive an additional 1.5 million baht. Another injured victim, who is expected to be treated for at least six months, will receive an additional 1 million baht.

On February 21 at Terminal 21, the provincial administration, on behalf of the injured and the families of those killed, will host an event to thank all parties involved in providing assistance. Honorary certificates will be given to good Samaritans on this occasion.
