
SURIN, Thailand – Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul joined Thai troops for lunch at a field base near the Thai-Cambodian border in Phanom Dong Rak district, Surin province, serving pa-lo (Thai braised pork stew) and dining from traditional tray-style plates.
The visit included inspections of the area and observation posts, where the Prime Minister used binoculars to review the border situation. He was accompanied by Defense Minister Gen. Natthaphon Nakpanich, Deputy Defense Minister Lt. Gen. Adul Boonthamcharoen, Commerce Minister Supachai Sutthamman, Digital Economy Minister Chaiyachon Chidchob, Supreme Commander Gen. Ukkrit Boontanon, Secretary of the National Security Council Chatchai Bangchuad, and Second Army Commander Lt. Gen. Weerayut Raksin.
During the visit, PM Anutin encouraged the troops, saying, “You must succeed. The Thai military does not know the meaning of defeat. I will do everything I can to ensure you return home safely and bring the victory of Thai sovereignty back to the people.”
The Prime Minister also emphasized full support for the mission, pledging to safeguard the troops’ well-being while maintaining national security. The visit concluded with a shared lunch where he personally served pa-lo to the soldiers, dining together on tray-style plates. (TNA)
