PM Anutin orders immediate evacuation preparations for Thais in Iran and Israel

Anutin Charnvirakul addresses the nation on March 1, confirming coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand and the Royal Thai Air Force to prepare aircraft for evacuating Thai nationals from Iran and Israel amid escalating regional hostilities.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul addressed the nation on March 1, 2026, regarding escalating hostilities in the Middle East. He emphasized that ensuring the safety of Thai citizens in the region is the government’s highest priority.

​Although Thailand is not involved in the conflict, the Prime Minister noted that the situation will affect the global economy and Thailand’s recovery. He confirmed that the government is taking all necessary measures to protect and quickly repatriate citizens, especially those in high-risk areas such as Iran and Israel.



Prime Minister Anutin has worked with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Air Force to prepare aircraft for the immediate evacuation of Thai nationals from Iran, which remains the primary objective. A Situation Monitoring Center, led by Foreign Affairs Minister Sihasak Phuangketkeow, has been established to manage relief efforts.

The Prime Minister has placed all relevant agencies, including the Office of the Prime Minister and the Ministries of Finance, Labor, Public Health, Defense, and Interior, on 24-hour standby. He acknowledged the economic risks and affirmed the administration’s commitment to mitigating these effects and seeking opportunities for the nation during the regional crisis.


​Concluding his address, the Prime Minister called on the Thai people to unite in prayer for the safety of those in conflict zones. He expressed his commitment to ensuring the swift and successful completion of assistance operations for Thai nationals in affected areas. (NNT)
