BANGKOK, May 14 – Pheu Thai party-list MP Yuranunt Pamornmontri will run in the upcoming by-election in Bangkok’s Don Mueang constituency.

The party executive committee decided today to field Mr Yuranunt in the poll, replacing Mr Karun Hosakul whose parliamentary membership as a Pheu Thai representative was revoked by the Supreme Court for slandering his political opponent, Tankhun Jitt-itsara of the Democrat Party, in the latest general elections.

The Pheu Thai executives resolved that Mr Yuranunt is a suitable candidate and could get along with MPs and city assemblymen.

Mr Yuranunt once ran in the Bangkok gubernatorial election. He won about 600,000 votes but lost to the Democrat Party candidate.

Thirachai Vudhitham will move up in the Pheu Thai party list due to Mr Yuranunt tendering his resignation to run in the by-election.
