Pathum Thani holds seminar titled “Challenging Opportunity and Preparation towards ASEAN”

PATHUM THANI, 22 June 2015 – Pathum Thani province held a seminar titled “Challenging Opportunity and Preparation towards ASEAN”.

Police Captain Dr. Nitipoom Navaratna, Director of Asian and African Studies at Assumption University of Thailand, gave a lecture to civil servants and private sector employees open to the general public. There were a total of roughly 600 participants. The lecture was prompted by Thailand’s anticipated entry into the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) this December 31, 2015.

Pathum Thani Deputy Governor Winchai Uyangkul said the seminar was to educate the public and private sectors in Pathum Thani on preparations for regional integration. The AEC will consist of Thailand, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore and Vietnam.

Regional collaborations will occur in political, security, economical, social and cultural aspects. People in all ten countries will be able to travel, enjoy tourist attractions, amd do business, trade and investment more conveniently in ASEAN countries.
