PM Paetongtarn says she has “nothing on her mind” after Anutin declared he’s ready to part ways, confirming no formal conditions have been set for a Cabinet reshuffle.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra on Wednesday downplayed political tension following comments by Deputy Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, who publicly stated that his Bhumjaithai Party is ready to part ways with the government if needed.

Speaking after a meeting with senior civil servants at the Ministry of Energy, reporters asked if she had any feelings or reactions to Anutin’s remarks. Paetongtarn calmly replied, “No.” She explained that her purpose today was to meet with ministry permanent secretaries to ensure ongoing work continues smoothly.

Asked whether she had already informed Bhumjaithai of any Cabinet reshuffle conditions, Paetongtarn responded clearly: “Not yet.”

When pressed about Anutin’s firm rejection of any preconditions, the Prime Minister nodded and simply said, “Yes,” before thanking the press and leaving the venue.

Reporters continued questioning whether the absence of Bhumjaithai from the coalition would affect the government’s stability. Anutin had stated that “If we can’t work together, we should go our separate ways.” However, Paetongtarn did not respond further and walked directly to her car.

Observers noted the Prime Minister remained composed and quiet throughout, offering only polite smiles before departing from the Ministry of Energy.
