Thailand’s Department of Cultural Promotion, under the Ministry of Culture, is preparing for Songkran 2026, the Thai New Year festival, under the captivating theme “Once in a Lifetime: Experience Songkran in Thailand.” The celebration invites people to embrace the joy, unity, and unforgettable moments of Songkran as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, showcasing its vibrant traditions and heartfelt spirit to the world.
Festivities will take place throughout April across 5 signature cities—Chiang Mai, Khon Kaen, Chonburi, Samut Prakan, and Nakhon Si Thammarat—and 13 other must-visit destinations nationwide. Activities include cultural performances, art, music, fashion, and food, alongside campaigns for safety, environmental responsibility, and cultural preservation.
