BANGKOK, 10 May 2015 – A member of the National Reform Council has stressed that its reform efforts are aimed at enabling Thailand to go through a major and important change.

NRC member Boonlert Kachayudhadej, who belongs to the committee overseeing the reform of mass communications, said that the ongoing reform process has been designed to help Thailand continue its progress under suitable circumstances.

Mr. Boonlert said that the committees under the NRC have three main responsibilities related to the reform process, including proposing law amendments to the National Council for Peace and Order, the Cabinet and the National Legislative Assembly; the offering of advice and opinions related to the drafting of the new Constitution and the approval or disapproval of the draft charter.

He stressed that the process of reform is intended to bring about a major and important change for the country at a time when many had agreed that it must be achieved because Thailand could no longer remain at a point where nothing was getting better.
