BANGKOK, Thailand – The atmosphere on Khao San Road intensified late into the night on April 12, as Songkran celebrations drew massive crowds of Thai and international tourists eager to join the water festivities.

As the evening progressed, the number of revelers steadily increased, with people continuing to pour into the area well past midnight. The growing crowds led to heavy congestion both on Khao San Road and surrounding streets, with movement becoming slow due to the sheer volume of visitors.

Most partygoers came well-prepared, armed with water guns and waterproof pouches, ready to dive into the celebrations. Music from bars and entertainment venues along both sides of the street added to the lively atmosphere, turning the area into a vibrant nighttime festival zone.

Despite the dense crowds, the mood remained cheerful and festive, with smiles and laughter seen throughout the packed street as people embraced the spirit of Songkran.

Security was also visibly heightened, with police and related agencies setting up screening checkpoints at all entry and exit points to maintain order and prevent incidents, ensuring the celebrations continued safely into the night. (TNA)
