BANGKOK, Thailand – The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has reported that 252,603 people have paid their respects to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother at Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall between October 27 and December 8, 2025. On December 8 alone, 7,680 mourners traveled from across the country to join the royal tribute.
The BMA, in coordination with relevant agencies, has implemented comprehensive support measures to ensure order, safety, and respect throughout the mourning period. Services include traffic and public transport management, medical assistance, sanitation, security, and organized waiting areas. Officers and volunteer guides have been deployed at key service points to assist visitors.
Additional facilities are available on-site, including drinking water, restrooms, and mobility support such as wheelchairs and golf carts for the elderly and persons with disabilities. Mourning attire is also available for borrowing to ensure all attendees can participate appropriately.
Public visiting hours, as set by the Royal Household Bureau, are divided into four sessions daily: 8:00 a.m.–10:45 a.m., 12:00 p.m.–4:45 p.m., 5:45 p.m.–6:30 p.m., and 7:45 p.m.–9:00 p.m. Services remain in place during all sessions to support the large number of attendees and maintain a solemn atmosphere.
The BMA requests that visitors dress respectfully in black or white mourning attire with collared tops and closed shoes. T-shirts, sleeveless shirts, jeans, shorts, and short skirts are not permitted. Women are advised to wear long skirts or traditional fabric that covers the knees, and students should wear official uniforms in accordance with regulations. (NNT)
