Volunteer teams prepare equipment at a forest fire control center in northern Thailand, as efforts intensify to contain wildfires and protect communities from worsening air pollution.

CHIANG RAI, Thailand – The Mirror Foundation in Chiang Rai province is calling for more volunteers to support ongoing wildfire suppression efforts in northern Thailand, as fires continue to affect air quality and public health. The organization is working with several groups, including the Phetkasem Foundation, the Royal Forest Department’s Fire Hawk Team, and a team led by a local monk.

Volunteers are needed to help contain active forest fires using available equipment, supporting efforts to control their spread and reduce the impact on nearby communities. Those interested can apply via an online registration form (t.ly/_fosl). Applicants are advised to review the requirements carefully, confirm their participation with staff, and ensure they are physically prepared for the work.

Volunteer teams are currently based at the Forest Fire Control and Promotion Center in Mae On district, Chiang Mai, where operations are ongoing. (NNT)
