BANGKOK-The Ministry of Commerce will launch another affordable household items campaign in December to help Thai families cope with the cost of living.

Director General of the Department of Internal Trade Wiboonrak Ruamrak has held meetings with vendors, retail and convenience stores to discuss organizing the campaign.

The 3rd campaign will be three times bigger than its predecessors with 13,800 stores across the country expected to participate. Household items will be as much as 80% cheaper than their regular prices. It’s thought that the campaign will help shoppers save approximately 15 billion baht in one single event.

New products will be added to an existing list of everyday items. They include stationary, sports equipment, electrical appliances and construction materials. The campaign will run from December 17th – 27th with 50 billion baht of cash flow anticipated.
