
BANGKOK, Thailand – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) welcomed global marathon star Eliud Kipchoge to Bangkok on November 26 ahead of the Amazing Thailand Marathon 2025. TAT Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool and senior officials greeted the Kenyan athlete at Suvarnabhumi Airport as he began his schedule for the upcoming race weekend.
Kipchoge, the world’s fastest marathon runner with a historic 1:59:40 performance and multiple World Marathon Major and Olympic titles, will compete in the half-marathon on November 30. He will also appear at the event’s expo from November 27 to 29, an event set to draw strong interest from runners and media outlets preparing for race coverage.
More than 48,000 participants have registered for this year’s event, which is projected to generate over 1.4 billion baht in economic activity. Organizers expect extensive domestic and international attention as the marathon is broadcast across multiple platforms.
Kipchoge’s arrival adds global momentum to one of Thailand’s largest running events, reaffirming its growing appeal among elite athletes and recreational runners from across the world. (NNT)
