Livestock and produce fair to take place in Pak Kret, Nonthaburi

NONTHABURI – The Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives (MOAC) is set to hold the livestock and produce fair in Pak Kret, as part of the city’s four corner marketplace campaign.

The Deputy Secretary-General to the Prime Minister for Political Affairs Renu Tunkachivangoon has revealed that the Livestock and produce fair will be held at the Royal Irrigation Department in Pak Kret District, Nonthaburi during 18 August – 16 September 2015.

She said that this event will be held as an extension of the market fair at Khlong Phadung Krung Kasem Canal in Bangkok, due to its popularity.

The Prime Minister has ordered an extension of the Khlong Phadung Krung Kasem Canal market fair outwards, to the peripheral areas around Bangkok, to provide the public more channels to purchase good quality products from farmers.

The MOAC’s Permanent-Secretary Chavalit Chookajorn has said that the Department of Livestock Development and the Royal Irrigation Department will act as the host for the market fair in Pak Kret, which will feature affordable produce, both fresh and processed.

Taking place from 10am to 8pm everyday, the event will also showcase general agriculture products, products from the Royal Projects. Activities in the fair will include animal beauty pageant, animal auctions, and animal healthcare services.

The livestock and produce fair at Pak Kret is the first extended market fair from Khlong Phadung Krung Kasem Canal. Additional events will be organized at the Suvarnabhumi MOF market in Samut Prakan, the Khlong Luang market in Pathum Thani, and the Thawee Wattana market in Bangkok at later dates.
