
BANGKOK, Thailand – A large concrete slab used for the construction of an elevated bridge fell from a truck trailer while being transported, crushing a nearby sedan. The incident occurred on Lat Krabang Road with the sedan sustaining heavy damage, and the driver suffering minor injuries.
At around 11:30 PM on May 10, a report came in about the incident near Soi Lat Krabang 54, in the Lat Krabang district of Bangkok. The road is a two-lane road, and in the right lane, authorities found a white Honda sedan with the windshield shattered and the front hood severely damaged. The front bumper had fallen off, and the vehicle was crushed by the large rectangular concrete slab. Nearby, an 18-wheel truck, registration 71-5065 Phetchaburi, was parked in the opposite lane, carrying the concrete slab that had fallen off during transport.
The driver of the sedan suffered minor injuries, mostly to his wrist. Preliminary questioning of the truck driver revealed that the incident occurred when the concrete slab slid off during the transportation process and fell onto the car. The contractor has taken responsibility for removing the slab and assisting the victim.
