BANGKOK, Thailand – The ITD-CREC No.10 (Thailand) Joint Venture, the main contractor responsible for the construction of the State Audit Office (SAO) building in Bangkok, has issued a formal statement following the structure’s collapse during the March 28 earthquake. The company stated that all construction materials used in the project had been pre-approved by the project’s acceptance committee and underwent third-party quality inspections before being delivered to the site.



In the statement released on April 4, the joint venture extended condolences to the families of the deceased and those injured in the incident. It confirmed that the company has been actively supporting disaster relief operations, providing personnel, heavy machinery, fuel, and other essential resources to assist efforts at the site.

The company said that all procurement and construction activities were conducted in accordance with the project’s Terms of Reference and relevant regulations. Every phase of the construction process was subject to oversight, and all materials were independently verified. The firm reiterated that the building was constructed in line with the technical specifications outlined in the approved design.

The joint venture acknowledged the government’s investigation and confirmed its full cooperation with all relevant agencies. It expressed support for the transparency of the process, including the public broadcasting of steel quality inspections, and stated its belief that the inquiry would deliver results that are comprehensive, evidence-based, and impartial. The scope of the investigation includes the design, construction, supervision, third-party testing, and potential seismic factors related to the collapse.
