LAMPANG, 8 September 2014 – H.M. the King Bhumibol Adulyadej has ordered the Rajaprajanugroh Foundation under royal patronage to distribute flood-relief kits to flood victims in Lampang province.

Heavy rains have caused flooding in the northern province of Lampang, especially in the Mae Kong village in Mueang district. The foundation has dispatched a mobile medical unit to provide aid and necessities as well as flood-relief kits to flood victims.

Meanwhile, a strong monsoon trough over the North and the Northeast of Thailand along with the Southwest monsoon over the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand are causing scattered showers in many districts of Lampang province. The affected districts include the Ngaow, Wang Nuea, Muang Pan, Koh Kan and Muang districts, inundating a total of 5,569 households.

Currently, officials from the foundation have brought 500 sets of royal flood relief kits to assist the locals of Lampang province.
