Footage shows more Bangkok bomb suspects

BANGKOK, 21 August 2015 – The investigation of the bombing incident at Ratchaprasong Intersection has shown progress with the CCTV footage shows multiple perpetrators, announced the Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha has revealed the investigation progress of the bombing incidents in Bangkok from the report of the Royal Thai Police, that more than one suspects are believed to be involved in this incident, based on further examination of CCTV footage.

He has said that the culprits for the bombing incidents at Ratchaparsong Intersection and at Sathorn Pier are believed to be from the same group. The perpetrators are to surrender themselves to the police.

The Thai PM has said that these types of incident can happen to any city, while the incident in Bangkok is yet to be concluded at the moment whether it is related to the southern unrest or from international conflict. To avoid drawing in international players, the Prime Minister has stressed that this incident is an internal affair that Thailand needs to solve.

The Prime Minister has further said that he has already discussed the matter with the United States’ Charge d’affaires that Thailand is willing to accept the United States assistance on the investigation process, but stated the initial investigation will be carried out by Thai officials. He assured the public and international entities that Thai officials are fully capable of solving this matter.
