CCTV footage clearly captured the moment an individual hurled the object from the overpass.

BANGKOK, Thailand – The Expressway Authority of Thailand (EXAT) has clarified that a concrete block that struck a motorist’s car on the Bang Na-Trat Road was not the result of damage to the Burapha Withi Expressway structure, but rather the act of an individual who threw the object from a pedestrian overpass.

The incident, which caused damage to the windshield of a passing vehicle, was widely shared on social media and reported by local news outlets.

EXAT dispatched a team of engineers to inspect the site and confirmed there were no signs of cracking or spalling on the expressway structure. The agency also coordinated with the Samut Prakan Highway District and local police to review CCTV footage, which clearly showed a person deliberately throwing the concrete block from the overpass.

EXAT stated it will cooperate with law enforcement to track down and prosecute the perpetrator. The agency urged the public to report similar incidents or suspicious activity directly to the EXAT Call Center at 1543, which operates 24/7, to ensure prompt investigation and support for any affected motorists.
