Bangkok, 23 May 2013, German Ambassador His Excellency Rolf Schulze has presided over the opening ceremony of the establishment of a cooperative education center, Thai-German Dual Education and e-Learning Development Institute (TGDE), at King Mongkut’s University of Technology, North Bangkok (KMUTNB).
Attending the event were German-Thai Chamber of Commerce President, Karl Heinz Heckhausen, DAAD Director Thailand Dr. Corilin Mulverstedt, former Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Suwaj Liptapanlop, former Industry Minister Pinit Jarusombut, Chairman of KMUTNB Dr. Siritat Rojanapruek Department of Industrial Works Director General Dr Nuttapong Nuttasomboon , and KMUTNB Rector Professor Dr. Teerawut Boonyasopon
The project was initiated following last October’s seminar of Thailand’s Education Ministry, the KMUTNB, and German Foreign Affairs Ministry, held during the celebration of the 150th year of the Thai-German relations as well as the 53rd year anniversary of education relations between KMUTNB and Germany in 2012.
The Seminar, “Thai–German Conference on Dual Education & Dual Studies”, was held at King Mongkut’s University with aims to develop both countries’ economy and social aspects.
To underline the cooperation, the university and German agreed to sign memorandums of understanding on academic cooperation on Dual alliance of Professional Excellence, Bangkok Protocol, Dual Education System development, and e-Learning Development.
