Equipment, IT system to be moved to new parliament building

BANGKOK, 29 July 2019  – The Secretary-General of the House of Representatives has announced the cancellation of the meetings of Members of the House of Representatives and senators next week as equipment and the IT system will be relocated to the new parliament.

Mr. Sorasak Phianvej, Secretary General of the House of Representatives, said the Secretariat of the House of Representatives has announced the cancellation of meetings of Members of the House of Representatives and senators for one week as utilities and technology systems are moved from the temporary meeting room, at TOT Headquarters on Chaengwattana Road, to be installed in the new parliament building, Sappayasaphasathan, Kiak Kai intersection. The following week, meetings will be held in the Chanthra meeting room at the new parliament building. The Secretariat of the House of Representatives will do its best to accommodate parliament and members of the press.

Mr. Somboon Uthaiwiankul, Secretary of the House of Representatives, said, because the Secretariat of the House of Representatives has to move equipment and electronic systems, Mr. Chuan Leekphai, President of the House of Representatives, deemed it appropriate to cancel the House of Representatives’ meeting on Wednesday, July 31, 2019, and Thursday, August 1, 2019.
