BANGKOK, 15 May 2014 – The Department of Special Investigations’ (DSI) Chief has disclosed that police assault units have been deployed to arrest core PDRC leaders.

DSI Chief Tharit Pengdit revealed that the Criminal Court has already approved an arrest warrant against 30 leaders from the People’s Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) and the Students and People’s Network for Thailand’s Reform (STR), who are all accused of insurrection.

At this point, the police are searching for at least 20 PDRC leaders who haven’t been frequenting the rally sites and are not well protected by guards like the other core leaders. He expects that the police would be able to apprehend a few PDRC leaders within a matter of a day or two.
