Diplomatic Corps visit highlights Lampang’s culture and nature on international showcase tour

LAMPANG, Thailand – The Aomthai Foundation, in partnership with the Lampang Chamber of Commerce and Thammasat University’s Lampang Campus, hosted a reception for the diplomatic corps as part of the Diplomatic Corps Visit Chiang Mai & Lampang: A Cultural and Nature Immersion Journey project. This initiative seeks to strengthen international relations and promote Northern Thailand’s unique cultural and tourism identity globally.



The delegation included senior diplomats such as Fuwad Thowfeek, Ambassador of the Republic of Maldives to Thailand, and Elchin Ragub Oglu Bashirov, Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Thailand, accompanied by their spouses. Edirisinghe Arachchilage Sriyani Wijayanthi Edirisinghe, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Thailand, also joined the group.

In the morning, the diplomatic corps visited Chae Son National Park, where they enjoyed hot spring bathing and nature therapy activities. The program also included a lunch featuring locally sourced ingredients, such as the renowned Chae Son hot spring eggs, showcasing the area’s natural resources, which greatly impressed the delegation.


In the afternoon, the delegation visited Wat Khuang Kom, a historic temple over 200 years old. The tour featured traditional Lanna architecture, a large teakwood ordination hall, and an overview of community-led restoration efforts that have preserved the temple’s cultural heritage.

This project represents a significant step in establishing Lampang as an international cultural tourism destination and in strengthening international cooperation networks. (NNT)
