At 6 pm on 16th January at Central Pattaya Beach, our beloved Mayor Ithipol Kunplume, presided over the press conference regarding the upcoming Chinese New Year celebrations in Pattaya which are to be held at Lan Po market in Naklua between the 22nd and 23rd of Jaunary, the mayor was joined by the executive board of Pattaya City, the Thai Hotel Association and local media.
This event attracts many tourists to the city and this year will feature the Chinese Girl Pattaya 2012 contest and concerts with many artists such as Peter Fodify on the 22nd of January Bluberry on the 23rd.
In addition there will be many other activities such as the Chinese mask changing magical performance, Chinese dances, Chinese traditional art shows, dragons and lions shows, a large variety of merchandise available – all of which will be free of charge.
Sales from food and drinks will go towards the Sawang Boriboon Thummasathan Foundation.
Chinese New year is considered by the Chinese as the start of a another year, same as Thai’s Songkran festival and this will surely be another great and colorful event held here in Pattaya.
