Chinese and Japanese embassies reject claims of drone donations to Cambodia and Thailand, labeling them false and reaffirming commitments to peace and non-military aid amid escalating regional tensions.

BANGKOK, Thailand – The Chinese and Japanese embassies have issued separate statements denying they are supplying drones to Cambodia and Thailand, respectively, amid rising tensions along the Thai-Cambodian border.

The Chinese Embassy in Thailand called reports that China had donated drones to Cambodia “false,” clarifying that the circulating images were from a flight demonstration event held in January. The embassy reaffirmed its stance as a “friendly neighbor” and its support for a political settlement facilitated by ASEAN.

Meanwhile, the Embassy of Japan in Cambodia dismissed “rumors” that it planned to provide “combat drones” to Thailand as “FALSE.” It stated that no such request was made or planned, and that Japan’s assistance is “strictly limited” to non-conflict areas. The embassy stressed the importance of the ceasefire and urged the public not to spread misinformation. (TNA)
