Chiang Rai Red Cross Society helps thunderstorm victims

CHIANG RAI – Chiang Rai Red Cross Society President Onanong Techamaneesathit and Chiang Rai Red Cross Society Red Cross members distributed 100 sets of consumer goods to the locals who were affected by thunderstorms in Ngiew county, Theung district on April 19.

A total of 558 households and 1,953 villagers were reportedly affected by the thunderstorms in Theung district while military and administrative officials were scrambling to repair the victims’ damaged houses.

According to Chiang Rai Provincial Office of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, the damage caused by the thunderstorms covered nine districts, 32 counties, 208 villages, 3,978 households and over 10,000 villagers.
