City officials began budgeting Saturday for promised repairs and relief for victims of March 23’s severe overnight storm.

More than 50 homes in South Pattaya and Koh Larn were damaged by high winds and driving rain.  In the days following the tempest, city leaders promised relief of up to 10,000 baht per family.

Deputy Mayor Wutisak Rermkitkarn chaired the first budget meeting for those funds and said compensation may be as much as 20,000 baht per home.  The city will also assign carpenters and electricians to carry out the work.
