The British envoy met with Pol. Maj. Gen. Pulsap Prasertsak, the commissioner of the Fifth Provincial Police Division, to discuss security and safety measures for Briton travelers to Chiang Mai province and elsewhere in Thailand.

Mr. Davidson express his apologies for any inappropriate behaviors of his fellow Britons during their visits to this country and called on the police and authorities to provide safety measures for them as well.

The British embassy in Bangkok has publicized guidelines for the Britons to observe while in Thailand with respect to the country’s custom and culture as well as rules and regulations.

His remarks apparently followed the event in which a Briton tourist had mistakenly accused a local boy of stealing his property in Doi Suthep area of Chiang Mai.

Besides, the British embassy has produced and publicized graphics about Songkran festival and traffic rules, among other useful pieces of information. More than one million Britons have visited Thailand in a year.
