BANGKOK, 12 June 2015, The Board of Investment (BOI) told news media that it has approved 306 projects over the past five months, netting 48.25 billion baht in investments.
BOI Senior Executive Investment Advisor Hirunya Suchinai revealed that the figure is a decrease of 35 percent from the same period last year, which had 471 projects worth 297.9 billion baht.
However, 54 percent of this year’s projects are related to industries recommended by the board and the government. Ms. Hirunya explained that these industries use advanced technology and have potential to increase the Kingdom’s competitiveness in the manufacturing sector.
These industries include latex production, medical equipment production, Enterprise Software & Digital Content, and energy manufacturing business.
