BANGKOK, Thailand – Deputy Minister of Interior Theerarat Samrejvanich and Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt launched the “Sukhumvit Model: Big Cleaning” campaign on July 13, joining city officials, residents, and volunteers to clean more than eight kilometers of sidewalks along Sukhumvit Road. The effort is part of a citywide initiative to enhance the public spaces and overall livability of Bangkok through improved street and sidewalk maintenance.
The Sukhumvit Model promotes consistent cleanliness to create a safer and more attractive urban environment. The campaign supports the vision of a city that is both welcoming to visitors and pleasant for everyday living. The long-term goal is to build cleaner, more walkable neighborhoods that can serve as models for other districts.
Theerarat and Chadchart joined teams of personnel in clearing debris, washing walkways, and encouraging public involvement. Residents and business owners were asked to help maintain the spaces in front of their homes and shops, reinforcing the idea that a well-kept city starts with small efforts at the local level.
With continued support from residents, the Sukhumvit Model is expected to expand beyond its initial scope and guide similar clean-up efforts across Bangkok, helping create a more livable and enjoyable environment for all. (NNT)
