PHITSANULOK – Governor of Phitsanulok Chakrin Plianwong presided over the ceremony of launching a public relations caravan to raise public awareness about human trafficking and illegal immigrants.

The convoy moved across numerous locations around the city center. Joining in the caravan were 300 people who were high-profile officials from the Provincial Office of Social Development and Human Security, Social Regulators, military and police officers, representatives of government and private sectors, the Children and Youth Council as well as taxi operators in the province.

Trafficking in Persons has become one of the provincial agendas in line with the government’s policy. The province has come up with a “5P’s” strategy referring to protection, prosecution, punishment, prevention and promotion of international cooperation. The strategy calls for integration of all sectors’ efforts to monitor and share information about suspected actions leading to human trafficking.
