Advance voting registration opens for Thailand’s 2026 General Election

Voters review election information as the Election Commission opens registration for advance voting ahead of the Feb. 8, 2026 general election, allowing eligible citizens to cast ballots outside their constituency or overseas.

BANGKOK, Thailand – The Election Commission of Thailand (ECT) has announced the commencement of advance voting registration for the election of Members of the House of Representatives. The registration period begins today and will continue until 5 January 2026 at 12:00 a.m.

Advance voting is available to eligible voters who cannot vote on election day due to personal obligations, work or study outside their constituency, or residence abroad. Registration is required to vote at central polling stations outside one’s constituency or overseas.



Eligible voters may register online at https://stat.bora.dopa.go.th/Election/regoutvote. Advance voting is scheduled for February 1, 2026, ahead of the general election on February 8, 2026.

Voters who cannot register online may apply in person at district or local registrars, or through Thai embassies or designated officials abroad, during official working hours until 5 January 2026. Applications may also be submitted by post within this period. Eligibility will be determined by the postal stamp date.

Eligible voters may notify authorities of unavoidable reasons for not voting within seven days before or after election day, as required by electoral regulations. (NNT)
