Lt. Gen. Boonsin Padklang confirms he is alive and with frontline troops, condemning false Cambodian claims as attempts to undermine morale during ongoing border tensions.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Lieutenant General Boonsin Padklang, Commander of Thailand’s 2nd Army Region, has dismissed claims circulated by Cambodian media alleging he was killed in action during the ongoing conflict along the Thai–Cambodian border. The disinformation included an image showing a soldier holding the general’s portrait with an “RIP” caption, falsely suggesting his death.

Lt. Gen. Boonsin confirmed he remains in active service and is currently stationed with frontline troops, describing the claim as a deliberate attempt to undermine troop morale and mislead the Thai public during a period of heightened tension.

Thai military officials also stated that Cambodian sources have repeatedly spread misleading information intended to create confusion and mistrust. Authorities are continuing to monitor and address such disinformation efforts.

The 2nd Army Region Commander urged the public to rely on official channels for accurate updates and to avoid sharing unverified content. (NNT)
