Shane Stephens (3rd right), Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of Ireland and Steven Chandler (3rd left) Deputy Head of Mission, British Embassy recently were the guests of honour at the St. Patrick’s Society Bangkok 50th Anniversary Green Ball held at the Amari Watergate Bangkok. The event, attended by more than 300 guests, was organized by the St. Patrick’s Society Bangkok headed by President Gail Wright (4th right). Other guests included Tristan de La Porte du Theil, Nadia Hadi, Maeve Stephens, Gerry Wright and Pierre-Andre Pelletier, the hotel’s General Manager.

Karl Morsbach (6th left), Chairman and Founder of Baan Gerda Project recently received a donation cheque for 1.4 million baht from Pierre Andre Pelletier (3rd left), GM of the Amari Watergate Bangkok and Matthias Pfalz (8th left), President of BMW (Thailand) Co., Ltd. The Funds were part of the 3.3 million baht raised from “The 14th Amari Watergate & BMW Group Thailand Midnight Run” and “The 15th Aerobic Marathon on AIDS” to support the HIV orphanage in Lopburi Province. The 1.4 million baht will be donated through HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn to support the Chalerm Prakiat School in Lumpoon province and the other 500,000 baht already donated to support Baht for a Better Life Project.

The kind hearted hoteliers hosted lunch and brought lots of presents for the kids. The Amari Watergate Bangkok held 2 charity events recently, one was the ‘14th Amari Watergate & BMW Thailand Midnight Run’ and the second was the ‘The 15th Aerobic Marathon for AIDS’. The combined events raised 2.6 million baht. Pierre Andre Pelletier, general manager of the Amari Watergate Bangkok presented a cheque of 1.3 million baht to HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhon to support the Chalerm Prakiat School in Lumpoon Province while the other 1.3 million baht was donated to Baan Gerda Project in Lopburi province which supports an orphanage for HIV infected children.

To help alleviate some of the suffering of the people affected by the horrendous floods ravaging the central plains and Bangkok, Pierre Andre Pelletier, GM of the Amari Watergate Bangkok, together with his management team made a generous donation of essential items including clothing, pillows, blankets and towels for the flood victims to Saisom Wongsasuluck, committee member of the Friends In Need of ‘PA’ Volunteers Foundation of the Thai Red Cross Society.

At a ceremony held at the hotel recently, Pierre Andre together with artist Rungphan Buroochati and Nichaya Chaivisuth, the hotel’s Director of Communications & PR donated the proceeds to Chao Khun Phra Udom Prachatorn, Abbot of Wat Phrabat Nampu for further use to help the needy.

As usual Pierre Andre Pelletier (left), the effervescent GM of the Amari Watergate and Dermot Gale, the hotel’s executive assistant manager were on hand to ensure that the function was a roaring success. Guests included Khalid Bardan, manager Emirates Airlines for Thailand & Indochina, Liz Mortensen, president of the New Zealand Society, Nikki Cox, president of New Zealand Thai Chamber of Commerce and Grant Signal, chief technical officer NZI.
