Thailand to Host 2025 Volleyball World Championship – Government approves 1.1245 billion baht to support the international event in four provinces.

BANGKOK, Thailand – The Thai Cabinet has approved a budget of 1.1245 billion baht for Thailand to host the FIVB Women’s World Championship 2025. The proposal was submitted by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports.

The tournament will take place from August 22 to September 7, in four provinces: Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Nakhon Ratchasima, and Phuket.



The budget will cover licensing fees, venue and training ground preparations, accommodation and meals, taxes, advertising, staffing, and ceremonial events. Specifically, 630 million baht is allocated for broadcasting and hosting rights, 168.53 million baht for venue preparations, 67.82 million baht for accommodations and meals, and 163.06 million baht for taxes, with the remainder going toward promotion and operational expenses.

Spokesperson Karom Polpornklang emphasized that hosting this prestigious tournament will enhance Thailand’s international image, boost tourism, and increase spending by athletes, officials, and foreign visitors. The event is expected to generate up to 8.435 billion baht in economic value, supported by global social media exposure and an estimated viewership of more than 1.3 billion people worldwide.
