PSC golf from The Golf Club

For the record, here is our handicap policy, effective immediately.  Golfers must have an official R&A or U.S.G.A. verified current handicap to win prizes.  In the case of multiple handicaps, you must play off the lowest, whether that handicap is a local P.S.C. or I.P.G.C. handicap, or it has been issued overseas.

Tuesday, Sept. 11, Laem Chabang (White tees) – Stableford

1st John Pierrel (13) 37pts

T2nd Hans Lemstra (12) 36pts

T2nd Mark Wood (9) 36pts

T2nd Jim Dundon (14) 36pts

Laem Chabang was the venue for today’s outing and everybody raved about it.  This course is now back in the condition it used to be, absolutely perfect.  If you have not been here for awhile, you should give it a go as they also have a great pro shop with the new SportsMall addition to the clubhouse.  The new driving range was also a necessary improvement, with a fine putting green and chipping area with good bunkers.  Get here early and make use of the facilities to get off to a good start.

Hans Lemstra, Pim, John Pierrel and Mark Wood celebrate back at the club. Hans Lemstra, Pim, John Pierrel and Mark Wood celebrate back at the club.

John Pierrel has been seen taking to the range on his non-golf days and it has obviously paid off.  John shot one better than his handicap to win the day with 37 points, a good strong score on this Jack track.  Hans Lemstra, Mark Wood and Jim Dundon were all clipping at his heels for a 3-way tie for second just one point back with 36.

Hey guys, please fill in your scorecards properly.  You cannot win if we cannot read your scorecard.  Print your full name in block letters and your score circled at the top.  Winning golfers must claim their prizes at The Golf Club, but it is not necessary to be here at the presentation.  Also, you will notice there is no count back.  Our new policy is to divide the prizes equally for the same score, hence 3 golfers tied for second place.  We think this will prove to be a more fair system for everybody

Friday, Sept. 14, Phoenix (White tees) – Stableford

1st Jeff Cordeiro  (9) 37pts

T2nd Mark Wood (9) 35pts

T2nd George Bishop (19) 35pts

Time once again for an easy trip out to Phoenix and some gentle golf on a forgiving course.  Or so it seemed, but in fact only one golfer shot better than his handicap on the day.  Jeff Cordeiro was that one golfer, and for his efforts he took the victory.  The course was in great shape and we even had some perfect weather for a fine day of golf in the Kingdom.

Cap’t. Phil chose the first par 3, the second hole, for the near pin and it was won handily by Mr. Grant Cadell.

The man we call ‘Gentleman George’ had a heck of a good day once more, and turned in 35 points to slot into a second place tie with Mark Wood.  Khun Pim also had a great round and shot her best score of 32 points on the day.  Thanks to one and all for joining us… and keep it in the fairway!
