Wednesday, Jan. 28, Green Valley – Stableford

The course at Green Valley is starting to show a little wear and tear with the amount of people playing at the moment but it is still a pleasure to play here.

It was the deVere monthly trophy today with Brian Chapman the main guy giving out the prizes.  This time we had 9 groups including 8 ladies playing and got away to an early start and were all underway by 10am.

Today the prizes went down to fifth spot and that went to a very sick Wayne Cotterell with 37 points, him being beaten on a count back by Anucha Pulbrook (Nu).  Third place went to Thip (another one of the girls) with 38 points and second was won by Dave Edwards with 40.  The winner today was yet another lady, Jittina Tinpranee (Orn), with a magical 42 points.  Well done Orn!

There were two ‘2’s, coming from John Locke and J.J. Harney.

Friday, Jan. 30, Plutaluang – Scramble

The Navy scramble for January was a very successful day out for all.  With ten groups we got away a little earlier than our tee time, which caused a bit of a delay on the tenth tee, but really the wait didn’t seem to matter to most.

The course was in great condition with greens being very consistent, but it was the usual stories we heard back at the bar of the missed putts, and lip-outs.

Third place went to Team Billabong of Bill Trainer, Phil Elliott, Paul Greenaway and Bob Philp with a score of 60.1.  In second was the team of Auke, Don Walding, Mal Farquharson and a fourth person whose name the scribe couldn’t read so he shall remain anonymous, with a score of 60.  First place today was again taken by the inform Players Lounge team consisting of Bob Newell, Paul Bourke, Paul Hack and Jim Bell with a 62 gross net 57.2.  Well done fellas!

If you are looking for a game in this event the next one is on the 27th Feb 9.30 start at Plutaluang.
