The Pattaya Sports Club Summer Party 2012

Over 400 PSC members and their guests attended the Town-in-Town Hotel on Wednesday 11th July for the club’s annual summer party.  The first thing they saw in the lobby upon entering was a group of photos showing some of the various charities that the PSC supports.

All were welcomed by past Vice President Bobby Clark and various members of the Executive Committee before they settled down for an evening of enjoyment, whilst the Town-in-Town band played suitable music.

Social Chairman Nigel Cannon welcomed members and guests reminding all that this was a party and the opportunity to enjoy the evening with friends and make new ones.

President Tony Oakes then formally opened the proceedings and expressed appreciation to Nigel for what was going to be another great party.

Charity Chairman William Macey they came on stage to introduce some 30+ children from the Baan Jing Jai Orphanage who sang and danced to a spell bound audience.

It was the time for more music from the excellent Town-in-Town band which included 2 delightful ladies in their line-up, and for all to enjoy the wide selection of the superb buffet as always provided by this venue.

Then it was cabaret time and PSC always come up with something different for this item and tonight was no exception!  Nigel introduced a young Thai man called ‘Ball’ who sang in both English and Thai.  This was followed by a magic act featuring a Thai cowboy and cowgirl who had the audience in total amazement at their exciting act.  More singing by Ball and a lady concluded a most entertaining hour.

Next came raffle time!  During the evening 6 ‘Lewiinski’s Lovelies’ moved amongst the tables to sell tickets for the 17 prizes on offer.

The raffle went smoothly with ‘Little Bee’ (Jackson) picking the tickets, Nigel calling the numbers, and the prizes presented by President Tony and Golf Chairman Joe, with Mike Coleman ensuring they went in the correct order.

There was a major ‘Door Prize’ drawn by Tony – since Committee members were barred from this draw the first ticket was excluded and the lucky winner of a DVD Combo set was Wendy Bernek – thankfully Ken was there to carry it to the car.

Back to the music with the band who soon had the place rocking and the dance space full, until Midnight where many were still enjoying themselves.  Nigel closed the evening by thanking the band for their major contribution to the event.

Speaking later he also expressed his appreciation to the Town-in-Town Hotel for their friendly and efficient service.
