The Backyard Golf Society

It was another quick round for the Backyard Golfers at Emerald last Friday, March 27.  In fact we are getting around so quickly of late we have had to sit at the club house for a while to allow the local ale houses to get set up for out arrival.

The winner on the day was Mr. Quiet, heading the stableford competition with 34 points, but only on count-back from two other players.  Near-pin was won this week by Irish John.  The biggest winner however was The Biss, his birdie 2 on the par-3 15th winning him 10 skins and he won 12 overall and the roll-overs from the previous week.  Irish John won 3 skins, The Impregnator won 1 and there were 2 rolled over to the following week.

Down the road then for a few ales where Mr Quiet and The Biss bought rounds for the players.  We did not have many interesting moments to report from the round but it seems some of our members did have some highlights down Hua Hin way, with Connolly the Barbarian part of the crew that took some 7 hours to reach their destination on the way down, brought on by poor GPS service and the apparent need for relief along the elevated Chonburi highway.
