PSC golf from i-Rovers

Tuesday, Oct. 22, Green Valley (white tees) – Stableford

When you consider the amount of rain we have had over the last month, Green Valley was in outstanding condition on this day, all things considered.

We only had a small group out today with many of our regulars either scared off by the rain or deciding to travel somewhere else whilst we are stuck in rainy season.  We welcomed two new players, Bryan MacDonald and his wife Lui Guilan.  Bryan proved to be a tenuous Canadian, being the only one to finish today.  We also welcomed back Rob Taylor, Bill Steimann and Dave Arrowsmith, all here on holiday again.

Fairly unique for i-Rovers golf today, with one lady player off 15 handicap and all the men were rated 11 or under, so it really made for some good golf to watch.

The weather was great on the front nine holes but we counted our blessings too soon and the black clouds rolled in.  I played in the last group and made it to the 15th green before being forced to putt out in typical tropical rain.  It just looked set in with no chance it was going to finish soon so we decided to call it a day.

I felt sorry for Rob Taylor playing in my group; he had a great round going with 3 or 4 birdies and a great tap in eagle on one of the par 5’s.  I think he would have finished 1 or 2 under, which is great golf in the wet conditions.  .

The aforementioned Bryan MacDonald (h/cap 10) was the only one to finish and so was declared the winner today.  He managed some good golf and would have been much better, leaking 3 or 4 shots in the rain.

All are welcome to come and play golf with the i-Rovers group.  Call Paul on 087 189 5250 for details.
